Moto G4 lock screen acts like '9' button is continually pressed

Moto G4 lock screen acts like '9' button is continually pressed, blocking entry of actual PIN. Occurs after auto-screen lock.

Sounds like ghost touching. I had this problem with #1 . I searched all over for a solution. I finally changed my lock screen pin # and have had no problems since.
