Hi, all! We (my wife and I) have identical Moto G5's we bought at Costco. As far as I can determine, we have Android 7.0. Build NPNS25.137-93-14
We used to have identical Samsung Galaxy S5 phones, but we had to switch over due to some battery problems, the phones cutting off abruptly, and other issues.
We had a GPS tracking app on our phones and it operated perfectly on the Samsung phones, but when we switched over to the Moto G5, we have not been able to find a single GPS Family Locator/Tracking app that sends notifications. We've tried about a dozen so far, and none of them notify us when the other is leaving or arriving at one of the predetermined locations.
We've contacted all of the App support folks for each one of the apps, describing the problem, and none of them can either explain why, or fix the issue. Since it's occurring with every single app we've ever tried, it must be the Moto G5 phone that isn't allowing notifications.
We've gone in and simultaneously checked all our GPS, sound, notification, and wi-fi settings, and they're all the same on both phones. And yet, we're still not getting any sounds, messages, or any other kind of notification.
Any suggestions from the forum (other than going back to Samsung Galaxy phones, which isn't possible at the moment) on what we can do to get notifications from GPS locator/tracking apps?
