New phone in service for 1 month. It's supposed to be VoLTE capable. Motorola Moto G7 Play model XT1952-4 (USA Variant used in USA) Android 9. Has never displayed the setting to enable "Enhanced 4G LTE Mode". The status bar icon displays LTE but there has never been an icon indicating VoLTE. The setting option and a VoLTE icon were present on my old phone using the same SIM. The phone has been rebooted many times. The SIM has been removed and reinstalled. The phone has been booted into Safe Mode. None of those remedies corrected the problem. Solutions? Suggestions? Ideas? Help please. Thanks.

Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network

and also

Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network > Advanced

What carrier are you on? VoLTE can be called a number of different things -- do you see anything like HD Calling, Advanced Calling, or HD Voice?

T-mobile SIM which provided VoLTE on my old phone. The [Settings] option on the new Moto G7 Play is supposed to be called [Enhanced 4G LTE Mode]. There aren't any other [Settings] indicating anything to enable VoLTE such as your suggestions.

Unlocked phones don't always support VoLTE on a specific carrier. Let me see what @Javier P thinks, since he has a lot of experience with Moto phones.

As far as I know that feature is carrier dependant and US carriers are a big mystery for me. I wouldn't be surprised if T-Mobile didn't enable it for unlocked devices. I think you need to ask them for confirmation. Sorry, no much help.

Other than on iPhones and many Samsung phones, most US carriers do not activate WiFi calling on unlocked phones not branded to that particular carrier.

I had an unlocked LG phone that was capable of WiFi calling, but neither AT&T nor Verizon would activate WiFi calling for me.

What about VoLTE, though?

Thank you for your answers.

My new G7 Play USA variant XT1952-4 definitely supports VoLTE. T-Mobile confirms that my IMEI is supported with their VoLTE. Everything is as it should be to enable VoLTE except the [Settings] do not provide a switch for it, and an icon never indicates it. Screenshot of the pertinent [Setting] menu is attached. Screenshot of the pertinent advanced Test Function info and settings attached also, with both wifi enabled and with wifi disabled to force cellular data.
