I've been anticipating the X+1 release for some time. Now that the X Play edition is being rumored, it sounds as if I'll have to continue my wait. I would love to know more about its offering and specs. From the little I have read, it sounds promising.

If it's Qhd, I guarantee it's general performance will be less than that of the x+1. The 805 is not that much more powerful than the 801 but Qhd has A Lot more pixels to push than 1080P. The only real desirable spec improvement is the 3gig of ram.

We're expecting them to tell us the release date on Thursday - the question on is whether it'll be that day or one following.

If I recall correctly: SD805 allows for 50MP camera.
Think that's total MP for front and main.

Though the increased "dual image signal processor (ISP)" is more important.

It also supports 4K, so Quad HD should be much less tasking for it (though overkill for any phone), then on the 801.

I read somewhere that the X Play will have a smaller screen variant. Not worth linking, as all still just rumors.

I'm also interested in the no bloatware version of the device and quicker Android updates.

I can respect anyone who wants to get this for the features and user friendliness of the X. And if you like the design to boot, well then I'm jealous because it'd be about perfect. But put me in the 'not thrilled about the design' group. There is zero "new car" feeling to me in a Samsung lookalike, which every non-iphone person has.
Not really looking forward to reading Nexus rumors for the next 2 months, but I really want to love my next phone for 2+ years and therefore be picky about the next purchase. Meh.

I think it looks fine, I like it. It does look similar to a gs5, which I also like the look of. I'm waiting for price, developer edition, camera reviews, and to confirm the last lack of gimmicks as the x.

I have a renewal on 9/26 so I'll either use it in an x+1 or get another phone I can sell on swappa and wait for the developer edition, or the rumored x-play 5.2" moto nexus version.

If moto maker is att exclusive again, I will be Livid. I cannot deal with only 16gb of storage and I want to have the option of customization. If they lock me into the only option being a 16 black version, I will buy something else. I had honestly rather have an original dev edition than that...
