Okay first, sorry for the boring subjects in my photos, but the point is to show an idea of the differences with and without HDR enabled.
If you view the photos at full size, you will see the shadow areas in HDR shots have less noises and with more details. Obviously this is a benefit from the phone taking multiple pictures with different level of exposure and using software manipulation to gain more details, but it doesn't matter, in the end getting a good looking photos is what matter, at least for most regular users like me who doesn't care about shooting RAW or doing advance photography. Actually, the skies exposure tend to look more correct with HDR as well.
HDR do not help with all situation and sometimes may overexpose scenes. Also you will need to hold the camera very still while taking HDR shots to prevent blur.
The point I'm trying to prove here is the quality of regular (nonHDR) shots could be a lot better and is better by several other 2014 flagship devices, however, the camera have a lot of potential. Just hoping Motorola can come with some updates to improve it.
