Moto X 2014 Different Launchers for Different Carriers?

I got my new Moto X from Verizon and it doesn't come with the Google Now Launcher that you find in the play store. Instead I have the swipe up from home to get to Google Now. But, in some review videos I do see the leftmost screen with Google Now cards. Are there different launchers on this new Moto X for different carriers? Or maybe I'm just missing something.

Have you tried installing the Google Now Launcer from the play store? I don't have the new x, but the '13 and most recent phones don't have it pre-installed. Should work fine if you download it.

I think they are just wondering if it is different on different carriers. The pure edition does come with The Google now launcher installed. Interesting that your Verizon version doesn't. Wonder why

Sure, I can download it from the play store. I was just wondering why it isn't the default launcher that came with the phone. It seems like some people have the Google Now launcher (from the play store) already installed when they buy it.

I think there must be two different "stock android" launchers, lol.

The Verizon one has the larger icons and animations of the Google Now Launcher but lacks the swipe to google now. IIRC the default launcher was called Launcher 3.

So, you are saying that Verizon phones have "Launcher 3" and other carriers have the standard Google Now Launcher?

I have the stock AT&T model from AT&T direct and mine came with the Google Now launcher with swipe to right
