Moto X 2014 "Immersive Mode"

Maybe I'm just hallucinating, but it seems to me that the Moto X has immersive mode (where the on screen buttons and notification bar disappear until you scroll/touch the screen) enabled less frequently than the Nexus 7 had. E.g., in Mail and Chrome...is there an option to turn it on? I'd like to use that extra screen real estate...

I think it's app dependent meaning some apps support it and some don't. It's really annoying playing games that don't support it. I usually don't..

There is no way to turn it on unless the app dev allow it and or give the user an option to manually enable it, some apps don't have the option. Other way is root.
