Not a deal breaker for me.

16GB Moto X (first generation) here. I'm not running out of space.

Nope. I have a 32GB Nexus 5. Between the cloud and everything I don't need everything on my phone at one time. I am always confused on how people use phones. It's not a computer replacement. I have 25+ gigs of music on google play/amazon but I don't need it all

No, thank goodness it is absent. However much it costs in materials, licenses, engineering costs, software development (now and ongoing) and the engineering and space considerations in design are all more better spent on either simplifying the design, lowering costs to the consumer and/or adding functionality.

Does it bother me? Yes, a little but it won't be the reason if I decide not to buy it.

Not if I get the 32GB. Even 16GB is sufficient for me.

Sent from my nifty 2 year old AT&T HTC One XL

Not the dealbreaker, but certainly a factor.

It is more accurate to say I definitely would have replaced my existing phone if there had been SD card support.

I somewhat agree with Darth Spock that they should leave it if off if it means they could add other features or lower cost, but they didn't do that, either. From what we've seen, it's the 2013 Moto X with 2013 flagship hardware. That's not bad, but I don't see what we gained by not having the SD card.

(Okay, I can think of one scenario: Android SD card support is broken. Motorola wants to ship stock Android so, rather than fixing SD card support as the other manufacturers do, they simply don't include support. This allows them to release updates faster, which is a feature. All conjecture, of course...)

Doesn't bother me....

And if I had to pick between the two "hot-button" issues of "SD card slot" or "removable battery", I'd prefer the removable battery. SD cards don't factor in at all for me.

Nope. Current phone doesn't have it, and I rarely used it on the phone I had prior that did support SD cards.

Nope. It wouldn't bother me if it was there, but I probably wouldn't use it more than once or twice.

For me, no sd card.. No interest. Long commute means streaming too much video and music. Guess it just depends on how you use your phone.

It definitely does, and to be fair my usage is influenced by still having unlimited data. I stream music anytime I'm in my car, and other times as well. I think I'd still be ok with 32gb internal if I didn't have unlimited, but it would certainly make me think more about it.

I think that's why the Moto G got the microSD slot - it's focused on more developing countries, which may not have as solid data coverage, or more limited data plans. Lacking an SD slot may be a deal breaker for a much, much larger portion of the market. It also lets customers buy the entry phone and re-use an already bought SD card to save on total cost. The same is true for the US and other countries that most of the members of this forum seem to be from, but we're not as price sensitive, so device makers have a better chance at getting buyers to upgrade to larger internal storage, or more cloud usage.

Yes, not having a microSD card slot is an odd design choice, especially since the Moto G has one now. It would have been better for Motorola to put microSD on all their phones this year.

Means nothing to me. I always have 16-18gb free on my dev edition.
