I'm so torn, I really like my Moto X but the Nexus 6 will be the X on steroids. Is Moto assist and the suite of Moto apps worth keeping the device? I'm still within my 14 day exchange and could go back to my M8 while I wait for the N6

I like the Moto X. Its not much difference other than one gig of RAM and screen size. Both I can live without and pocket the extra $150 IMO. But hey thats just me!

The Nexus 6 looks amazing but I would go with the X mainly due to features that Motorola adds to the stock experience. If the N6 had Moto assist and active display it would be a no brainer. I can live without the bigger battery and storage just for the Moto assist stuff.

Two things - size and cost - turn me off the Nexus 6, so it's never been a consideration for me. I could even get past the cost maybe but that size is way too big. The Moto X 2014 is as big a phone as I ever want to own.

I sat on the sidelines to see what the N6 was going to cost. Saw the $649, laughed, and bought the 32 GB Moto X with the $50 .edu discount. I've been wanting Active Display for a while. I think I will be happy.

Coming from an N5, the N6 might have gotten me IF it wasn't so huge in addition to costing that much. I could have lived with 1 of the 2, but I'm not paying a premium for a phone that is a lot bigger than my desired size.

So now I should be content for a year and hopefully manufacturers will realize that bigger != better.

I speak for myself, but a phone is a phone is a phone. It has to be able to go with me everywhere without any inconvenience whatsoever. While I believe the N6 can fit into all my pockets, if it's anything like the Lumia 1520, it's just way too big for me.

Even if the N6 was the same price as the Moto X, I would pick the Moto X 10 times out of 10. I don't know who the people using these 6" phones are but more power to them. It's not for me.

I'm not a fan of Phablet sized smartphones... I'll take the Pure Edition Moto X over a Nexus since Motorola will give me my updates fairly quickly and they have the almost straight Android look and feel anyways AND they have the Moto app.
