Okay, Everyone can beat me up later but I just came back to Android after getting rid of my iPhone 6 but when I set up Moto voice it seems to work but when I'm using my phone and say Okay Google Now I get no response. Did setting up Moto Voice disable Google Now?

Yes, I feel like a kid on their first day of school but I'll tackle this learning curve.

TIA, Go

Try "Okay Google" without the now.

Re: Setting up Moto Voice and conflict with Google Now

The way it works for me Moto Voice replaces OK Google Now to launch touch less input. Google Now still exists on the far left home screen or when you swipe from the bottom up. But since you are touching the screen already you have to tap the mic for Google Now to listen and complete the action.

Is there a Moto command to do a web search just as easily?

My co-worker has the previous generation phone and has no issues with OK Google functionality as well as MX functions for voice text/call, etc., while in a vehicle.

Perhaps I'm confusing two separate functions?

Re: Setting up Moto Voice and conflict with Google Now

The old Moto X still uses Okay Google Now but with the New Moto X +1, 2nd gen. etc. It can be set to use Moto voice and I realize now that it overrides Google Now.

So I have mine set up to where I say, What's up Moto and then I get the prompt to ask questions.

Like I said, I just came from iPhones and Macbook Pros and I'm making the transition for two reasons. 1. To damn expensive with Apple. 2. I started with Android years ago and should've stayed but at the time I was more pissed at MS and their crappy OS's so I switched to Apple. Now we have Chrome books and Android based laptops so.

So forgive my ignorance here, but how do you search Google (or whatever search engine) from the Moto functionality.

One of the buying points on this phone for me was that it would be at least as good with voice as the previous version. If the Motorola software complicates what I already loved, then I'm balking a bit...

The only thing that's changed (software-wise) is that you can change the phrase of the older X from "ok Google now" to really almost anything, such as "What's up doc?"

Once phone feature is enabled as well as phone trained for phrase, phone can sit on desk in front of you and without touching it, without raising or waving a hand, all you have to do is say the magic words "What's up doc?" and then screen turns on and is waiting for a voice command, such as:

Goto www.androidcentral.com

What's the time?

What day is Thanksgiving on in 2017?

Etc etc

Hope that helps
