Moto-X 2nd Gen (Republic) MotorolaDeviceManager Windows 8 Crashes
When I run MotorolaDeviceManager_2.5.4.exe on my Windows 8 machine it get to step 3, then Windows gives me a message "MotoHelper Service has stopped working" and in the details:
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: MotoHelperService.exe
Application Version: 2.3.8.0
Application Timestamp: 52c5f617
Fault Module Name: mfc100.dll
The only option is to close the program (or check online and close). The install program then tells me everything is fine.
I can see the device in device manager. It is using "Motorola ADB Interface"
The functionality I want is not to be able to update the phone software. I only want to enable USB so that I can test android applications that I'm tinkering with. Would the service be required for this use case?
