Moto X: Assist not working

Edit : resolved be clearing cache.

I have a new moto x, and assist is not taking to me. It knows I'm driving, but calls and texts just behave normally. I set it up with the prompts.

Tried resetting phone. Haven't done a factory reset.

Any help?

Do you have text to speech configured? Have you installed the voice file (locally)? Check the settings for text to speech.

It's installed, I've been using maps. Thanks though.

My moto x is doing the same thing. So did you go to settings/ storage/ cached data ? Is this what helped? Thanks!

go to settings, apps, assist, clear cache
