Moto X - battery percent wrong

for the past few days my battery percent has been wrong and the stock battery meter too. it will tell me I have 30-40% battery but in fact I'll have like 5-10%. when it says I have 30-40%, 5 minute later it will show I have 5%. anyone having issues or know why?

You likely have a few bad cells in the battery if you can return it.

I haven't experienced that issue,however, you can wipe cache in recovery. That might fix it and let the battery charge all the way to 100%.
