Dalvik, left it of charge last night still had 43% after 24 hours to 4.4.2 really improved my battery life

Running art with this when I was on nothing but 4g. It's was a good 4g signal around Hampton Virginia tho. I get really good battery life on wifi as well. But when it comes down to it.... If u game on ur phone... It's gonna kill the battery. You can't play candy Crush for an hour and not expect ur battery to be where it was when u left it.

Are these on att or verizon? What's the longest battery time with what screen time? Thinking of switching from the maxx on verizon to x on at. Love the maxx and battery life.

Really wondering what your screen time is. I'm not seeing anything close to that.
This was mine the other day and I was happy.

I will admit I was not using the phone much. I dont have exact screen time but here is another view. I was blown away by it... It's not what I normally get out of the phone...

Is Art only on 4.4.2, or is it also on 4.4 ??

Just curious as I have not updated, and when I get home I will check my device, don't have my phone with me right now.

And where is the Art settings, so I can check.

Art is able to be enabled with kitkat... Any version as far as I know.

OK, so this is the first I've heard of dalvic or art......I just checked and I'm on dalvic, so what's the difference between the two and which one is preferred?

Art is an experimental runtime that, according to Google, will not improve your phone. It is hidden in the developer options and is there for developers at this point. Some people think that they get better battery on art but Google says this is unlikely. Art can also have compatibility issues with some apps. Dalvik is the runtime Google is expecting people to use Ave the runtime developers are targeting right now.

Is there any risk in switching between the two? Do you lose any of your data/installs, etc.? Other than maybe better battery life is there any noticeable difference?

I just switched, it did an upgrade that took 5-10 minutes. At this time I haven't noticed anything different.
