Moto X Play and Marshmallow woes

Since updating to Marshmallow I cannot transfer photos to my PC using usb. I can see the phone in windows explorer but cannot access any of the folders. I tried turning on USB debugging and a second cable to no avail. The usb icon does not appear in the notifications tray. Has anyone found a way to solve this problem? Thanks for any help.

Are you actually swiping down the notification panel to see if there's a USB notification there? It might not appear in the status bar.

Otherwise, it might be a Motorola issue. Have you checked Motorola/Lenovo's own user forums? Make sure you give them this feedback.

Hi B. Diddy Thanks so much for that information. Although I still don't see a USB icon, when I swipe down from the notifications bar I get the options box and that works fine.

Great! Yes, this is the behavior I noticed on my Nexus 5 after Marshmallow--the USB icon no longer appeared in the status bar, but the option was there in the notification panel.
