Moto x Play display issue

I purchased the phone today through Flipkart(Online retailer).I had heard rave reviews about the Moto x Play's display. But im hugely disappointed. The brightness is really poor. I'm using it in full brightness even then it feels dim. I somehow feel I received a faulty product. Guys i have attachrd image with the default wallpaper at 1. Minimum brightness
2.50% brightness
3. Full brightness

Guys please help me out.

Welcome to Android Central! Sorry, but we can't see the images. Are you able to compare your device with someone else's X Play?

Also, the phone didn't come with a protective film on the screen, did it?
