I currently have the Note 5 on Verizon...and having high Cell Standby issues and so thinking about Moto XPE instead.

coming from iphone 6 and not having all the knowledge lot of you guys have, can you guys give some insights why Moto XPE vs Note 5?

Re: Note 5 or Moto XPE

1. If you like the storage for media, much more of it as a practical option.
2. No glass casing (less fragile build)
3. No carrier bloat
4. No Touch Wiz- straight Android
5. Quicker updates
6. Front stereo speakers
7. $300 or more less
8. Customization options

That is about it IMO.

Battery life comparable to note 5?

Wondering if the battery life will be comparable to the note 5 because it's about the same screen and battery size.

Hopefully we will know in about a week.

I hope it's better, because I have the note 5 and it's not very good.

None of us have the phone yet.

Hard to say anything without actually having compared them.
Different screen types, different processors, different software, etc. It all plays a role

I mentioned this elsewhere, but on my 2014 (and other users) the battery improved after about a week of use. Try not to judge it after just a couple of days. Just my recommendation.

All I know is, that when using ANY phone, going from a Samsung, LG, etc. ROM to an AOSP or pure based ROM... battery is better.

My note 4 battery was miles better than my nexus 6. Bigger screen yes, but not by much.

Re: Battery life comparable to note 5?

I don't think the X will have better battery life than the Note 5. The Samsung amoleds have been measured as having very very low power consumption, and the exynos is a very efficient chip. The S6 has terrible battery life because they went too thin and the battery is simply too small, plus touchwiz. The note 5 didn't feel as touchwizzy to me, and it also got a better signal than the s6 standing in the exact same spot.

As long as I can get 4 hours of SOT and a good standby time I'll be good. My nexus 6 has pretty bad battery life, but the new Moto g is spectacular in that regard. Hoping the new X is somewhere in between.

Re: Battery life comparable to note 5?

I just recently gave up a Nexus 6 for a Note 5. The Note's battery life is WAY better. If that's any indication at all to how the XPE will compare.
