Moto X unlocks by itself?

happened to me so often I had to place my phone in my pocket with the screen facing out. I've tried everything when it comes to turning off apps that turn the screen on when notified, etc. I'm convinced it's got something to do with static electricity in my pocket unlocking the phone.

Never once happened to me with my iPhone. Never. Has happened to all Android phones I've had.

As I think I said earlier, I have also had similar issues with earlier versions of android. My Atrix 4G (Android 2.2.6 I think) would unlock during an incoming BT call and it would not re-lock. On the Atrix, I discovered that if I used a third party lock screen, it would lock after a BT call but I had other issues with the third party app and finally uninstalled it.

So I doubt seriously that it is static electricity. It seems to be a "feature" of Android. My guess is that the behavior for BT calls is the same as for regular calls. For a non-BT call, it is acceptable (probably desirable) that the phone does not re-lock. But for BT calls (at least for in-vehicle calls), the screen should not even turn on and if it does, it should DEFINITELY re-lock at the end of the call.

Similar issue here, but in my case its triggered by an app: First Wood War. I sent the developers an email last night. I'm NOT on Bluetooth and I DO use a pinlock. The app some how keeps it from registering the locked condition but still let's the screen sleep...but not the phone as the game continues to play out. The weird part is that the screen is set to sleep after 3 seconds of inactivity, which it does, but it comes back to the game, not the lock, and then goes back to sleep after another 3 seconds (as though I wasn't using it). The fix for me ATM is to hit the home button (which triggers the lick screen?!?), unlock, and then it runs normally.
