Android Central Question
For the past month or so, my moto z droid with android 7.0 is not giving notifications for any app after the screen has been off for about 30 minutes or more. Whether on stable home wifi or verizon 4G. When I turn on the screen on I almost immediately get the email notifications, text, facebook etc I missed.
For a while I was at least getting email and text notifications when the phones screen was off- lately even those have been delayed. After trying numerous things I recently did a factory reset only to experience the same exact issues. Things I've tried:
-The basics most help guides suggest. Made sure battery saver was off and disabled battery optimization on every relevant app. I then applied the system ui tweak and elevated these apps to the highest priority level 5. No effect.
-Applied setting to keep always keep wi fi on during sleep but I don't think it's disconnecting from wifi.
-Tried various apps to keep wi fi on and from dozing/deep sleep. None of them did anything. Have not tried some apps that require root access yet.
I am a longtime android user and while I have had this problem sometimes in the past I've always been able to overcome it. I'm about out of ideas other than to wait for hopefully a soon to be released oreo 8.0 update which may or may not change things.
