A
AC Question
Hi everyone.
I have seen some topics about similar issues, however they were not specifically for Moto Z, and most descriptions were a bit different from what I am going through so I am starting this new clear topic hoping somebody can shed some light.
My phone:
- Model: Moto Z.
- Baseband: M8996_1239.53.01.126R SRD
- Kernel: 3.18.31-perf-g1403404-00036-g20e6d7c hudsoncm@ilclbld73 #1
- Security patch: April 1st 2017
- Compilation: NPLS25.86-30-12
Comments:
- Came with Marshmallow, I upgraded it to Nougat two or three weeks ago.
- Used Bluetooth on Nougat perfectly.
- All good until yesterday.
The problem:
- It started last night.
- Only thing I did yesterday that was different from other days is running Play Music, which I had not even opened before. I know this sounds stupid but I do not want to leave anything out.
- When I got home some hours later, Bluetooth would not turn on.
- What happens exactly is:
1. I try to turn Bluetooth on, it takes me to the Bluetooth connection screen. Switch is ON but no devices show up.
2. When I get into Settings, I see the switch is DEACTIVATED.
3. I tap on the switch and it moves, however it remains grayed out and Bluetooth does not turn on.
My failed attempts to solve it:
- Tried restarting.
- Tried clearing Network Settings.
- Tried clearing Bluetooth app cache.
- Tried clearing phone cache from Recovery menu.
- Tried turning off wifi scanning.
- Tried switching off/on every Bluetooth setting I found.
- Tried hard-resetting phone.
- Tried rebooting in safe mode.
Nothing worked and I am lost.
I contacted customer service, and after confirming I had hard-resetted the phone they told me I should send it for repair. I guess that is what they have to tell you when they cannot find a solution... I do not blame them, still I am so afraid they will send me back a refurbished device and so positive this is a software issue that I do not want to do this.
Any ideas? Anything I should try?
Thank you all in advance.
Ivo
