Afraid so. Even if I went with the battery mod to get the battery life I need and expect, the camera is uninspiring. I've only dropped my phone(s) three times in seven years so I don't need the shattershield.

Looks like Pixel 2 and Note 8 have got my attention now.

The only positive thing I can say about it is if you get it through Verizon you can pay $15 a month for two years but you can't pay it off early and get the discount. Plus wherever you buy it right now from an authorized dealer you can get the projector mod free with proof of purchase.

I suspect the camera will be a relative disappointment but we will see. The smaller battery is definitely uninspiring. So I'll sit out this year and hope that next year brings something better.
