So my original Moto360 became defective after 6 months of use, but I loved the watch overall. So I was thinking of upgrading to the new moto360, but the Zenwatch2 looks appealing as well. Need some opinions or suggestions.

What happened? Is it not covered under warranty? If it's defective then warranty should still cover it since you will be within the warranty window.

If you are still getting a new wearable then I would suggest reading the reviews to see which one fits your preference:

Reviews above should prove useful, personally I'd go ZenWatch 2... However, I love the original and currently use it as my daily watch.

I contacted Motorola and they told me my serial number wasn't a valid number. Luckily, I still had my purchase receipt from Best Buy and they gave me store credit for what I purchased. Might as well upgrade since I have that option

The new Moto (2015) is quite a bit more expensive $299 compared to the ZenWatch 2 ($149). (You could buy two ZenWatch 2s for the price of one Moto 360 gen2). The ZenWatch 2 has slightly higher DPI at 278ppi compared to the Moto (2015) 263 and 233 depending on which size you get. The Moto has wireless charging. The ZenWatch 2 has a bigger battery. If price isn't an issue to you then which shape you prefer: square or round may be the thing to decide it for you.
