If you were going to purchase a Moto X 2014 with the intention of selling in 6 months or so what combo would you get at moto maker?

I'm talking colors, size, version etc...

I'm thinking black/black/gray or silver? And maybe 32gb would be the best bang for my buck or 64? and pure edition of course.

What do you all think?

If you're after pure resale value, then yeah, black/black with either silver or grey highlights and 32gb. I wouldn't spring for the 64gb version if you're just looking to resell it later, I don't think it would add much value for the price premium you pay up front.

I agree: Neutral tones and accents with no personal engraving have the highest resell value.

I'd do Black/Black/Silver and 32GBs... Or a wood back with a black front and silver accent. (Bamboo and Ebony seem to be the most popular woods.)

I wouldn't suggest leather if your intention is to resell in 6 months. The leather wears uniquely to the owner and gets scuffs and scratches more readily so people will be less likely to buy your used leather back phone versus a used plastic or wood back one.

Go as neutral as you can. Also, the extra $50 you spend for more storage will not likely net you a greater return.

If your buying short team make sure you the Moto X on a promotion like the $150 off because if you buy full price its going to be a challenge to get money back if you can by new on a Motorola promotion like Feb 14th for $349.00

Resale back is hard on this phone. Its a niche market that know about the phone.

We sold 2 gen 1 and one gen 2 for almost nothing just to get someone to buy.

turquoise/black/yellow with custom engraving of "#YOLOLOL". My second choice would be black/black/darkgray.
