Hello, Im not hearing any voice actions when driving. My bluetooth audio stops, and i look at my screen and it says, 'say listen'. I say listen, but nothing comes on. Anyone else having these problems? I have a BMW 3 series

I too have this issue with my Chevy Volt. When connected to the car BT I can say "Ok,Google Now" to bring up the voice commands, but it does not hear me. It does work with my BT headset though.

Mine is working w my old Motorola Bluetooth car speaker.. Don't know diff it makes.. Don't have Bluetooth built in to the car

I have more concerns now. Yesterday it said, you dont have to say 'Ok Google Now' when connected to the car. Just press the listen button in car and it will automatically work. Nope this does not work. After receiving a call or text, my music fails to play again. It is permanently paused and music will not play again after manually pressing play on the phone. Messages are not read aloud. Anyone else having these problems?

I'm having an issue. The phone recognizes when I'm driving, but doesn't read my texts. Could it be because I'm using Handcent?

Ok, the problems persist and here are more details. I saw on a Motorola board that others are having the same problem, sometimes based on whether the phone is connected to the car Bluetooth. I was able to get a call announced when I didn't connect to BT, but it didn't place the call on speaker. When I connected to BT I didn't get a call announced, but when I selected "ignore" on my car BT, I did get an Assist announcement that a call as attempted. I couldn't get anything on texts, whether I was connected to BT or not. Help!

Certain Bluetooth car kits don't accept streams without proper meta data ..I think voice commands and assist read outs fall in that category ..this problem was reported on other phones too like nexes 4. May be you can try using aux cable in car if you have one ?I use Motorola Bluetooth speaker in my car and this feature works well with it ..

Ugh. My BT is built in and I hope this really just requires a software tweak...

My Hyundai Sonata bluetooth system is also having issues with the maxx. Saying Ok Google Now does not work when connected. The assist functions do not work through the car speakers and navigation directions do not come through the speakers either. About the only thing working is I can answer calls with the steering wheel controls, caller ID does show on the screen, and music does seem to be working OK.

I'm driving a 2013 Chevy Silverado. Connected with bluetooth OK Goole Now seems to work as it should. Incoming and outgoing phone calls work as they should. However, the thing to read the text and identify the sender doesn't seem to be working and navigation directions don't come through the speakers. I'm not too concerned about the text trick not working, but would really like to have the nav directions working through the speakers as they should...

Check your setting->sounds->volumes and try bumping up notifications and ringtones volume

My issue with navigation wasn't being unable to hear the directions through the vehicle speakers because of low volume... they were still coming through the phone. My thoughts were that the radio should have muted and the directions should have come through the vehicle speakers.

This is how it worked with my Bionic and my wife's S3. Music would fade out and the directions would come through the car speakers.

My phone automatically starts playing music while I drive. I hadn't noticed before because usually I connect my phone via AUX cable to play music but today I forgot to do that and it surprised the hell out of me when it started playing music in my jacket while I drove off. I then tested it and connected via AUX cable without starting Google play, sure enough after the phone sensed I was driving, my play list started blaring out of my speakers...it was kind of cool...

Although if I'm a passenger I guess that would not be a good thing lol...

it's good to know, but here's my take: it's smart enough to know you're driving, but it's not smart enough to knowthat hte AUX isn't plugged in yet. and that's kinda the big problem with automation tech. i don't mind dealing with it normally, but if i'm driving (and i drive with both hands and both feet), i really don't want to divert my attention even for a second to a phone that starts playing before I connect it to the AUX (in your example).

Honestly, i'm pretty close to just disabling assist, though i've not tried it yet. just reading about the bugs here, and also, one professional review said it started reading texts out loud without him programming it to do that (imagine if it reads the wrong text with the wrong passenger in the car)

How the H E Double-Hockey-Sticks did Motorola let this buggy car interface get out on public release?

Did they test it on one car and call it good? Or more likely, we are the beta testers.

I am enjoying every thing about this phone except how it interfaces with my car's BT system.

I have not had any bugs in my car. I drive a 2011 VW GTI. The Car does not have a "listen" button. It has a voice commands button, but this just prompts you with the built in voice commands in the car. All the voice commands happen on the car side, and then shoots the finished command to the phone. So I knew there was no way google now was going to work through the BT of my car. But if I say "Ok Google Now" the phone does light up and listen on the seat next to me. However, if I try to make a phone call it tells me this is unnecessary because my car can make the call for me.

Mine said this as well and does not work. I have not really had enough time play with it to see if there are any work rounds. I'm sure this will be addressed in future releases of the software.

New twist. For those who turn their phones back on as soon as your plane lands, your Assist will assume you are driving. I have no idea how the text reading works (does it ask you first?), but it could be embarrassing. Wish you could further refine Assist. Maybe tie the driving to use of a trusted BT device. And change Sleep to vary by day of the week. Oh yeah, and to get text feature to work.....
