Motorola Bionic

Droid Bionic is Amazing

I agree guys. This phone looks amazing! i just switched from a Storm2 to the X and the only thing I keep telling myself it was the hell took me so long!! Fortunately I have one final early upgrade left for this year, but if for any reason it dissapears (given Big Reds NE2 Screw you policy...thanks iPhone), I'll cough up the $600 for this phone.

I must admit, when I saw the Thunderbolt, I was pretty impressed, but then after seeing the specs on it, I was dissapointed. i'm sure the phone will cook, but when this hot competitor device like the Bionic is rocking a dual core processor, you have to wonder why HTC would do that.

Motorola has put out some excellent android devices and I see the Bionic as the LTE device to beat! I can't wait for this one!

It will be the top device for a few months but in the year I plan rom owning it I doubt it will fall on its face. Just hoping we see some sort of dualcore support. Throughout the os. Sooner rather than later or this nvidia chips power would be wasted

If you plan on gaming at all then this device's power won't be wasted. Nvidia already said they will have a Tegra 2 game store for it.

As far as OS tweaks, I'm sure that'll come out eventually.

Gaming yea this gpu will rock but system wide I would like the support their here is to hoping hunnycomb makes it to phones or we get 2.4 or something like that with full dualcore support
Edit
Only 2gigs of secure storage I hope they don't mean app memory because that would suck even though I'm not using much over two gigs now on my d2

I'm excited about the specs but for one crucial item: the form factor. I don't want to handle something that large. One of the attractive factors for the Droid and Droid 2 is the forma factor: it's right on the sweet spot.

I was worried about that same issue when I first got my DX, but now I couldn't go to anything smaller

Agreed. I think like most anything you just get used to it.

Agreed. I couldn't fo anything smaller now its the perfect size.

But I also want to see the Bionic and Atrix run side by side and see if there will be a huge difference between the 1 GB or ram and the 512.

I'd bet money you won't see a difference. The added RAM is for the webtop functionality.

Plus the atrix may have a longer development process just because of webtop and the fingerprint reader all this has to be laid on top or beside android. But saying that their shouldn't be much of a difference in how they run. Now if android could utilize the whole 1gig of ram then it will really fly

The problem has to do with the PMU and causes a variety of issues including severe overheating even while at idle, power fluctuations affecting RF performance and cold boot issues.

These things were told to me by someone who is testing the devices. I have no hands on experience myself.

If you want to believe me that's fine...if not...that's fine too.

I have no intention of disclosing or discussing anything about my sources.

Satisfying people's curiosity on internet forums is utterly worthless compared to their trust and my continued ability to have access to them.

If the reasons why aren't plainly obvious to you then I needn't bother explaining...sorry.

I do not think it will be a problem.. They are still working out the kinks of the phone. By the time of the release the problem should be fixed...

I'm hoping but hey also posted it on another board and stated that it was too late in the game to pull that part and put in another. Blackmam also talked about getting 4 hour battery life with this no matter what

In terms of speed, RAM only comes into play when it becomes deficient. So as long as there is enough, which 512 certainly is. There will be no difference.

BGR has info on the new Droid X; can someone explain why a new "X?" What is the difference between it and the Bionic; it seems as though it would be the next generation?

It's a "Droid" line phone from Moto that has the same size screen and a similar form factor to the DX. It's just the next tech from Moto.

If they have the same screen, processor, and size, why have both of them; it seems redundant to me? If the X2 had more improvements, I could understand, but if it has the same specs as the Bionic??
