I have a question about notifications with the stock email app that is connecting to an Exchange server. My previous phone (running ICS) used to display a message in the notification area if there was a connection problem, such as a dropped wi-fi signal or certificate error. I now have a Droid Maxx, and the email works fine - however, if there is a problem there is no notification. You have to manually go into the app, which then shows a blue bar that reads "connection problem". It's annoying because if you have the email set to push, it doesn't retry to establish a connection. So if I don't remember to go into the app, I might have many emails that never get pushed to the phone.
I've looked through the settings and I don't see anything that would address this. Any advice?
