Well it gives my vzw Moto more options maybe.
I dont know why just some carrier models are being offered this though

It would be a good idea to consider the source. AC's article linked to the Motorola forum thread where only Verizon is mentioned.

At least a different device. Aren't you missing the custom Moto software? I don't think I could switch to CM if it meant losing Moto Display.

Cyanogen has incorporated something very similar to moto display on cm13 for this phone. It uses the sensors in all four corners to detect your hand and everything. Works like a charm
