.Mov player for S3

Up till now I have been unable to play .mov files on both my N7 and the S3.
I found Rock player and can now play .mov on the N7, but only sound on the S3.
Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried MX Player? MOV files should play on it.

You may need to make sure it's on Software Decoder, rather than Hardware Decoder. Not sure if Rockplayer has these options as well.

Have MX player.
Rock has the options, but still doesn't paly.

Just to confirm--you've tried Software Decoding on MX Player, correct?

Yes I have.
I have Dice Player / ES Downloader / ES Media player / MX Player / Video Player /
none of which will play .mov in spite of it being listed. ( unless on line)
Another strange thing is that I only d/loaded a few albums from Picasa, but I now have the entire collection! All stills viewable.
No problem as plenty of space. This also occurred with my Samsung S3 on which I had changed download location to the micro SD.
Suppose it saves battery not playing videos.-))

How many different MOV files have you tried playing? I wonder if there might be an issue with the particular MOV file you've been trying to play. Also, MX Player just got an update, and although they don't specifically mention this issue, it's worth trying again after updating it.

Your entire Picasa photo collection is probably just being accessed in the cloud. If you pick a photo to look at, I think it's just temporarily caching it in your system, unless you specifically download it.
