Move to Sprint

So the manager at sprint told me he would activate my DINC on there network even though he isnt supposed to. My GF wants to switch i said i only would if i could keep my phone, will my phone work fully on sprints 3G network i am rooted, he just said verizon locks things out and i wouldnt be able to use the internet but that doesnt make sense.

If it's not a Sprint branded phone it isn't supposed to be on their network. You will probably lose some functionality. It may be easier and safer to sell the DINC and buy an Evo.

i would still be on a CDMA 3g network, you used to be able to activate phones between VZW and Sprint until they stopped it last year with no problems

Theoretically you should be able to switch between Sprint, VZW and USCellular and any other CDMA carrier. But, with the Data Fragmentation you will get voice and SMS, but data is a crap shoot.

It sucks that you can't switch carriers like you used to. I got tons of "bootleg" Nokia's on VZW under the “Customer Supplied Equipment” clause and life was good. The Nokia's on VZW often had more functionality then VZW advertised for their own phones in the early MMS days. But, that was pre "smart phone" days when the devices became only as smart as the carriers let them be.
