Moved to the ZF6 from iPhone... Any regrets?

I'm seriously thinking about moving my 16 Pro Max and AWU2 Titanium Black on as I'm using the ZF6 and Galaxy Watch Ultra now more than anything and thoroughly enjoying them both

The inner screen of the ZF6 is superb for when I'm browsing the web, Youtube etc etc (I don't game); it's also superb for the likes of Kindle & Pocketmags etc

Can't do that on a 16PM!

Obviously the camera tech on the iPhone is superb; but I am very much a 'point n shoot' picture taker 95% of the times and the pics I've taken on my ZF6 so far have been superb IMO

The GWU is also superb; it does feel much more of a normal watch compared to the AWU2 and I've got everything on the GWU that I have on the AWU2; there's nothing specific on the Apple stuff that I can't have on Samsung, thankfully...

So for those that have gone from iPhone to the ZF6; any regrets / anything you really miss etc?

Anything I miss from the iPhone? Nothing, tbh.

In this iOS vs Android debate… it’s always about what you gravitate toward, if you value flexibility and freedom. Then Android is the better option, but if you want simplicity and clarity when it comes to an OS.

Then iPhone is where it’s at, I’m glad the two exist. No choice is better than the other, it’s all about what you prefer. I enjoy the Fold because it’s a beast of a device and it can be whatever you want at any given time.

From a phone, to a tablet… hook up a monitor and get DeX. Then Good Lock adds another dimension to it.

Agree; my tech is all Apple and that's great (access ti Cloud, iMessages etc) but for the phone side of things; I currently think the ZF6 does a better job

More so because of what you said re the inner screen and also what I use it for (eReader, Youtube viewing etc)

The iPhone is a beast; but it's not as capable, IMO, as the ZF6 - bar the camera tech; that's all it has over the Fold IMO

Added BlueBubbles for iMessage on the Fold and I have a (cellular) iPad to handle anything else that’s Apple related. I’d probably use the iPad & Fold combination for the foreseeable future.

And if I want some high quality photos/videos… I have a dedicated camera. The iPhone is a superb device… but it’s limited in functionality (for me).

But I’m kind of conflicted… although I like the tradition (circle) form/shape of the Galaxy Watch, I do wish Samsung adopted the squircle shape of the Apple Watch. Because I like the fact we have abundance of Watch Faces to choose on the Galaxy Watch.

However, having a squircle shape would provide so much added information on the Galaxy Watch.

Not come across BlueBubbles. Will look into that, cheers

I actually like the Galaxy Watch Ultra for and having them side by side today, prefer it over the AWU2.

I've big hands / wrists etc. I feel it suits me better

Ive lost 5 stone recently due to poor health, my arms haven't shrunk much though. So smaller watches look silly on me

The only thing I miss from the iPhone is iMessage. Google messages works ok but iMessage just works. When it comes to tablets iMessage wins hands down, Google messages is buggy and limited functions.

If Apple would make iMessage available on Android app store if pay $5 month for it

Fortunately it's not an issue. More or less everyone uses WhatsApp and only my brother uses iMessages and I've got that on my other Apple devices

Have you tried using BlueBubbles? I probably been a user for over a year now and it’s reliable. It mimics the interface of the iPad.. with the column layout and pinned threads.

I like iMessage but it wouldn't stop me from completely leaving
Me either, but i'm tired of the wife and kids whining every time I completely switch bc messaging isn't working as good. Even with RCS there are still issues of messages not being received. Other than that I could take or leave imessage. The things I would miss most likely is Airdrop, FaceID, and the seamless integration with my MBP. So I'll continue with the two (or three) phone life for a while longer ;)

Don't know about you, but Bluebubbles has been crap for me lately. Keeps disconnecting from the server and not able to re-establish the connection. May be an issue with cloudflare.

And that's me iPhone and AWU2 free... Both sold this afternoon and collected

Only thing I cocked up was the WhatsApp move. But TBH I needed to do a clear out anyways. So started with a clean slate 👌🏼

I've been using beeper, it works better but I need to use Google messages for certain things such as scheduled messages. I'llook at Blue bubbles

Possibly. I had issues with Cloudfare awhile back and then switched to Ngork or whatever it’s called, I think the developer had suggested it.

But now I’m back to using Cloudfare and haven’t had any issues lately.

Supposedly OpenBubbles is a good alternative too. You could look into that as well… for me, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it is why I’m staying under BlueBubbles.

Once I run into concerns… I’d switch. Best thing about OpenBubbles you don’t have to run your Mac 24/7.
