What are you guys using to move files back and forth from the PC to the phone? I have been doing what has to be "the old fashioned way" of doing things (connecting the cable, turning on the "connect to usb storage" option etc.)

What are you guys using?

why would i have to do it again? i just leave everything on my card, i back up my files to the computer 1 a month

yeah I get that, and have done the same thing with roms, but I find that I am constantly moving files to the phone trying out new widgets/walls/mods/themes....

maybe another question would be is there an app that is just a button to connect/disconnect the usb? that would cut things down quite a bit

cant you just set it to mass storage in USB settings?

I do have it set that way, but every time i connect, I have to go into the notification bar and hit USB connected to copy the files back and forth, should have be an automatic thing?

lol i dont remember , lol couple days and i forgot how i had it set up :D
when i get a phone ill see if there is a widget for that or if it can be made with anycut

You guys should have a look at wifi file explorer. Transfers both ways to any dir over wifi. Only downside is no batch transfers. Speed is equal to cable transfers.
I only use cable for odin stuff.

One other option which I find myself using alot more nowdays is to download files with tapatalk and just flash from the Tapatalk download folder. Just make sure it's wifi.

The last time I transferred something I sent it to Dropbox from the PC then downloaded it to my phone. I don't know if that is any easier, but it didn't require USB.

I just download everything straight to the phone from the browser... Anything that is CWM flashable doesn't need to be transfered back and forth

I usually mount a network share right on my phone and copy to and/or from that directly over WiFi. I wrote up some instructions on how to set this up here:

I find SugarSync is the greatest for my documents.

Larger files like videos, I put the memory card in my laptop and copy them.

this is what i use and it works like a champ. easy to set up, too, thanks to the good directions (nice job, Chris3D!). IMO, this kind of 2-way WiFi functionality should be built-in; its a must-have. ideally via one app, not two, but hey, it works nicely so i'm not complaining.

:p

I remember seeing an app in the market that connects the USB automagically when connected.

I leave debugging turned on so connecting is just a tap or two to complete
