Moving from an HTC M8 to Samsung S9

Hi. Can anyone advise if their is a mechanism on the S9 to allow a transfer of data and contact details from my HTC M8 to my S9 - or is it a case of retyping contact details

Here is a link there are also apps where you can backup stuff. Now as far as contacts go those are usually backed up with in your Gmail account and once you add that to the new phone the contacts should sync over I believe. But here is a link that should help as well
