Moving from Note 5

Hello all.

Have any of you moved from the Note 5 to the S8? I'm due for an upgrade but finding it difficult to part with this amazing device. I don't use the S-Pen much. What has been your experience with the switch?

I've always switched from Note to S line and the experience just gets better every time. BUT I do use the S-Pen a lot, so I end up coming back to the Note line happily. The S8, however, is an amazing device, even better than the S7E (to which I moved to when I passed on the Note 5 to my sister).

I thought I would miss the s-pen (I had note3, note edge, note 5) but honestly, I don't regret moving to the s8+. so much so, I'm skipping the note8 this go around. I used the s-pen occasionally but have been fine without it.

I moved to the s8+ from the Note 5 and the s line is no slouch this year. The only upgrade they gave the note series this year is a second camera. S8+ is better than the note line this year.

I moved from the Note 5 to the S8 Plus, and happy I did. I thought I would miss the S pen but honestly the S8 Plus has all those features too that I used the pen for ,like selecting images etc. I think though you will find the S8 feels smaller than the Note 5. I did at least and went for the plus

I think I'm ready for a smaller phone. I looked at the S8 at a Samsung store and liked the feel of it.

Other than the larger screen, dual camera, and S-Pen... the S8 Line is the closest you'll get to the Note 8, honestly.

Also, the Note 8 has 2GB more RAM then the S8/+.

I have all three phones, Note 5, S8+ and the Note 8. I prefer the Note 8 but still enjoy using the S8+.

I went back and with the Note 8 and S8+. After finally playing with both it really came down to money for my upgrade. I do miss the S Pen a little but I didn't use it enough at this point to justify the extra cost. I also didn't want to own the first dual lens phone as well.
I just purchased a $35 stylus to use just in case I need it for some photo work or not. I will wait on the note 9 and see what that offers if I decide to jump back to the Note line.

Exactly my experience. Couldn’t have said it better.

The only thing I miss about the note 5 is the flat screen. The battery was horrible and I somehow used up all the 50 gb of space I had on the phone (I don't know how lol). I hardly ever used the s pen. I think you'll be happy with the s 8.
