I have pre-ordered both the V30 and Pixel 3XL (yes I will only take one of them!)

Whilst I think that the V30 looks to be the better device vs the pixel I wonder what it will actually offer over my S8+ in real world use (other than a sensible FPS and dual cameras.

Anybody moved or moving from the S8+?

I used to have the S8+ after using V20. Sold the S8+ immediately and got my V20 back. I really hate the solid slim and narrow glass design with curves and awkward fingerprint scanner placement, just couldn't get used to it after a week. When I got my V20 back, usage felt more natural and comfortable. The V30 pretty much kept the same size and has correct FPS placement, just feels better. Plus, less lag compared to TouchWiz on Samsung, better RAM management (Samsung has services running in background such as S Pay, S Health, carrier apps like AT&T data monitor, etc.).

In real world usage you'll have an easier time using fingerprint scanner and double tap to wake screen (very useful than pressing power button). Dual wide angle is very useful, you just haven't gotten a chance to own one yet. I pretty much have an advantage over all my friends with the wide angle, while everyone else has to stand back 10 feet, I can capture it all where I'm at. Plus the V series has a FRONT wide angle camera as well, very useful when traveling you can take selfies with the background scenery.

Waiting to get my V30, but my V20 hasn't aged one bit and still rocks!

I just got my V30 coming from my Note 8. The note is just such a long and heavy phone that usually means comfort and durability, but I haven't felt this the entire time I've had it. I've been concerned the couple times my infant daughter has swatted it out of my hands and it drops. that's not how a phone is suppose to feel... fragile...I'm hoping the V30 gives more piece of mind

I think if I was choosing from scratch I’d go v30 every time, just given the ££ loss I’d take on the S8+ it is a slightly different choice. The P2xl is also interesting, just not sure I’d be ok with no expandable storage or wireless charging as I’m quite used to both.

My V30 showed up and been using for a good chunk of the day..My only words are OMG. This phone is fantastic. I honestly think it's hands down the perfect size and form. It fits in my hand perfectly and runs everything well. Its overall performance so far has been amazing and I can't think of. negative element to this phone yet and I'm not regretting anything by moving from my Note 8.

after 10 days, the only thing I don't like about V30 is that the phone locks 10 seconds after connecting a call which makes navigating menu systems in business calls a real *****
