Moving mp3 to SD Card

Can someone explain how to properly move music (mp3's) from my hard drive to my SD card? I *know* that KitKat has modified the security on the SD card an my music is *erased* every time I try and manually copy the files to the SD card.

Is there a 3rd party app or workaround to this issue?

Have you tried airdroid? That's what I used
