moving photos in Gallery app

So in the gallery there is an album called recents. If I move a photo from recent to another album it still appears in recent. What happens if I delete that photo that is in the recent folder/album? Will it delete it from recent as well as from where ever I moved it to?

Make a copy of the photo in question and move the copy to a cloud storage like Google Drive and then delete the recent photo and see what happens! If they're both gone then you still have a copy in Google Drive to restore.

There isn't a folder named "recent". These are literally the images you've added, moved or used recently. They are from where ever they are stored and are just displayed in this convenient location because your device thinks if you've recently looked at or used this photo you might want to use it again. And yes deleting anything from your Recent view will delete it from where ever it lives and without a copy or backup you will lose it so be careful deleting things.
