Android Central Question

Hi,

I have bought a new phone (Pixel 5) and managed to move everything from my old iPhone to it via cable at the setup stage.
But the WhatsApp for some reason didn't move the chats. I don't remember having any prompts to transfer WhatsApp but now the setup stage is done and I still can't move the chats, so I'm using 2 phones - iPhone with sim and WhatsApp and google pixel with the rest of my apps.

When I connect them via USB cable and prompting the function on iPhone to transfer to android, it creates some backup but the last step is "Continue on your new phone. You can continue setting up your Android phone. When you're dome, open WhatsApp to restore your chat history and media. Don't disconnect your cable yet."

But there is no option on Pixel to continue the setup. When I open WhatsApp on Pixel it asks me for number and needs a text message to verify. When I move my sim, then iPhone looses the access to WhatsApp and Pixel do don't have the backed up chats, only shows me option to back up new chats in the future.

What am I doing wrong? Please help 🥺

Apparently it's only possible to directly migrate from iOS to a Samsung device, all other Android devices seem to be left out at this point.
