MP only showing 13 when spec on my ASUS ZenFone 3 deluxe 5.7 claims 23MP

I purchased my ZenFone deluxe 5.7 from ASUS directly. The specs on the box and the ASUS website say its the Sony 23MP camera and I've used 4 different apps to check my hardware including antutu and all 4 show my camera as 13MP or less as shown in the 2 screenshots I am including. Am I wrong in thinking the camera should be detectable as 23MP? I love my phone and its incidental to my satisfaction but its enough of a discrepancy to start asking questions. I've changed the settings on the camera several times to the specs detected are independent of the camera software. Asus claims it is 23MP but I am unable to prove it, they can't either but I do have these screenshots to justify my concerns. Thank you in advance for looking into this matter.

It seems I can't add my screenshots but fyi, I used antutu, droid info and CPU x plus an unnamed app.

Welcome to Android Central! In the Camera's settings, can you change the resolution? Does it specify how many megapixels each resolution setting represents?

Thank you for your reply. First thing I did was try to change the MP internally and then see if the hardware evaluations changed and they did not. There are 4 options for my ZenFone deluxe, 23, 16, 13 and 10 mp. None of them effected the results antutu or the other mentioned apps gave. On a side note, I called ASUS and was told my phone has a 23 MP camera and if it's not showing up I should return the phone. I know there are a few concerns about the camera like slow to focus or poor performance in low light, I have to wonder if anyone has checked their hardware.

An update for anyone interested. 4 apps show 13MP then I downloaded an app called "phone check" and got an accurate reading of 23MP. This is the best phone I have ever owned, hands down! I trusted ASUS so I kept looking and found flawed software, not hardware. Including a screenshot of most recent app reading.

Glad you figured it out! My next suggestion was to take a photo in the 23 MP mode, and compare the details of that photo with one taken in 16 or 13 MP mode. If the 23 MP photo file is significantly larger in size, that would support the larger resolution. Also, if you look at the Info or Details of the photo in a gallery app, it should show the proper resolution.
