MP3 File Locations?

Another noob here. I have root on my Bolt and I am trying to use some custom mp3 files as notifications and alarms. I have copied the files to the /system/media/audio subfolders but they do not show up in the settings list when I try to set them.

What am I doing wrong or how do I get a custom notification?

In that location, I have three folders. Alarms, Notifications and Ringtones. If you only have the one, create the appropriate folder (root explorer) and then move the mp3 into the folder. Or you can create these folders on the SD card under Media/Audio.

I have placed the mp3 files in the appropriate alarms and notifications sub-folders. I am dealing with the root "system/media/audio/alarms" and "system/media/audio/notifications" folders that contain the stock mp3 sound files. None of the files I copied into these folders show up when I try to select a sound in the settings.

go to your sd card itself and move them to:

sdcard/media/audio/notifications

If you dont see the audio folder or notifications folder, just create them
