MP3's not working

Couple friends of mine have S5's and they were unable to play an MP3 podcast, any ideas why?

What apps are they using to try to play the podcasts? Are the podcasts saved to the external SD card or internal storage? Since SD issues are somewhat common with Samsung devices, they could try moving the podcast to internal storage and see if it plays better there.
