Not to say the HTC rep was wrong but HTC and VZW do things differently. What HTC may approve may not get released by Verizon. HTC can send them hundreds of builds that they feel are ready for release and Verizon may release 1 or 2 or 50 based on Verizon's in-house testing. I wish it was as easy as HTC saying here you go but it doesn't work that way.

Yes you are 100% correct, but at the same time Verizon is waiting on HTC to release the fix so they can test and release the MR to its customers.

I also believe the MR2 that was leaked is not going to be the OTA version because having used the leaked MR2 for the last week, I can tell you that it has helped with the reboot issue but it has NOT fixed 4g reception, data disconnect/reconnect, hotstpot reliability issues, and slow web access in 4G.

The data disconnect/reconnect and slow web access in 4G are definitely issues that Verizon is aware of of due to the volume of support calls they have received. Since the leaked MR2 does not resolve these issues, I'm guessing they decided to go back and resolve these issues. If these issues are not fixed, I can't see how they can possibly charge for 4g hotspot. So, I think this is also the reason for pushing back the 6/15 hotspot free promotion to 7/6.

the update can NOT come fast enough! the update last week jacked up my phone! reboots more than eva and batt life sucks! o well! hurry! lol

I'm pretty certain that the new software release will be a different build than what was leaked *wink*



The reboot problem is an issue with the radio becoming confused and unstable during tower to tower hand off when there is an active data or voice connection.

Also, sometimes tower handoffs can happen for reasons other than moving the phone. Additionally, data connections are often open when you don't even know (i.e. checking mail, etc.)

This is correct. Went through this mess many many times with BlackBerry and I suspect you did too. The OEM (HTC in this case) writes the update to verizins specs (ie includes their bundled software and themes) Then they test them in house and when they think they are ready they send them to Verizon whose Technical Acceptance department tests them extensively again for up to six weeks but in cases where there is a rush like this it can be pushed through in about two or so IF there are no problems. If there are then they report back to HTC and the process starts over. I know with Blackberry RIM never really stops developing the os for their current devices. Not sure how that works with HTC. They may have gone back to Gingerbread developed and now have to drop that and get back on this; all this assuming that we are right and this update failed TA.

I'm lucky and dont have a lot of reboots but I sure do get stuck on 1x all the time. I for one am getting tired of this crap! Just would like it to work the way its supposed to!
