msg icon showing 1 notification but there is no msg in myinbox

I dont know how to get rid of this problem.

My msg icon on the main screen showin 1 notification but when i click the icon there is no new message in my inbox.

If you don't need to save your messages, clear out your text inbox. That'll probably reset the icon.

Didn't work for me... i ve deleted all my text msgs but still msg icon showing 1 new msg.
