MT4G Vibrate Questions

Okay, here I have two small dilemmas. First off, I need help figuring out as to why when I put my MT4G to "vibrate", it doesnt vibrate when I receive a text.
Maybe it has something to do with the settings I have but Im unsure. Under Settings>Sound>Vibrate I have that option checked and I still cant get my phone to vibrate when I have the phone set to vibrate mode.

My 2nd issue is not much of any issue but more of an inquiry. Sometimes I set my phone in my back pocket (screen facing my butt), and I take a seat in my car and all of a sudden my phone vibrates. Then I look at my phone and see no notifications or alerts. Im wondering does anyone know why it may have vibrated? Does the phone have a sensor when too much weight is placed on the phone? Or am i holding a certain button that is causing the phone to vibrate? Im sure that Im not holding the volume key down when sitting in my phone so that cant be it.

Anyone have any input that may help me understand both problems?

Vibrate when receiving SMS messages: Open Message icon > Menu > Settings > look under "Received Message" check Vibrate.

Weight sensor... that's a good one. I'm not sure what this issue could be, but I NEVER carry my phone in my back pocket... front, yes. I've never had that issue.

Why do you put a $500 phone in your back pocket? You're putting too much pressure on the device and it could easily break when you sit on it.

You could just be putting pressure on the volume button and turning down the volume to the point where it vibrates.

thanks for the help. i was hoping there was a way to set the mt4g so that when my volume settings are normal, texts dont vibrate but i adjust my volume to vibrate, texts do vibrate. but i guess i have to configure text-vibrate settings separately than the phone volume settings.

Im sure i dont put that much pressure on it when i sit in my car. and i dont sit on it on purpose, i just forget where i have the phone at times. i have the phone in my back pocket sometimes because i have a silicone case and its a little difficult to take the phone out of my deep front pockets. so sometimes its easier to have it in my back pocket for easier access.
