MTP Icon does not appear when Android 7 phone is plugged into PC

My Galaxy S6, Android 7 phone does not connect to my PC when I plug in the USB cable.

When I pull down the notifications bar, it says it is charging. When I tap on the Charging Icon, it goes to the Battery menu, Power Saving Mode, etc.

I went into Developer mode and turned the USB configuration to MTP. I restarted the phone, yet the MTP protocol did not come up.

This phone easily connected to a PC in the recent months, but no nada.

Please help.
