I bought this Choetech Multi-Port USB Hub; https://www.amazon.com/Multiport-CH...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU5723456
Really impressed by the quality and look. It is a tad between a light bronze and a darker gray aluminium. Darker than the Samsung Chromebook Plus. It is lightweight and compact. Slightly smaller than the palm of a medium sized hand, with rounded sides and piano black finish plastic at the ports. The cable is about as thick as a decent USB Type-C cable, the connector is nice and sturdy with a tight fit that doesn't fall out even with all the things connected to it teetering at the edge of my table.
I plugged in HDMI and instantly detected my TV and extended the screen, which could also be switched to mirrored mode. When I turned the brightness on the SCP off or closed it, it would switch and detect the multi-port as a "Dock". The display and peripherals connected continued to work.
Next I plugged in the stock Samsung 30W charger, the Chromebook detected it and started charging perfectly. So "pass through" USB Type-C Power Delivery is able to negotiate as it should working great at 28.5W.
Then I plugged in several memory sticks, as well as various other card readers, each detected and made it's contents available via file manager. Also tested attaching a Logitech Mouse and Corsair keyboard, detected and worked without issues.
Took an Ethernet cable plugged into the multi-port, then my router. The Wi-fi icon disappeared, connection switched to Ethernet. Ran a speedtest via browser, got max speed and I am currently online via the ethernet posting this summary review.
So far so good, all features and ports work flawlessly on the Samsung Chromebook Plus and is fully compatible with DP Alt mode, if you have questions or like me to test anything lmk.
