Multitasking view persistent Google search disappeared from top

I'm on stock device and I thought my device in multitasking view had a Google search at the top right? It seems to have gone away. Am I correct it's usually there right? Screencap shown... Thanks

Yes the bar on the top disappeared on mine. I don't see a toggle to turn it on or off so not sure why it's gone?

That is strange, I assume you did a reboot?, can we even opt out of the search bar?, not that you did but can we by mistake?

Thanks. You both have it and missing on mine. I thought I had it when I got the phone. Hmm. I don't think there is any way to turn it off on stock ROM. Restarting doesn't fix it.

Reboot into safe mode by holding the power off option and it should come back. Next, reboot normally and it will be there again.
