Multitasking...

I'm running Android 7, which has split screen multitasking. Is there any way to use it without having to enable the stupid on screen navigation buttons? I prefer the buttons under the screen

You don't have to enable on screen buttons to use it, I'm using the capacitive keys and it works fine.

And you're just holding down the previous apps button and it's working? Mine does nothing

Go into the buttons settings menu and under the recents button set the long press action to toggle split screen.
