I use shuttle music and pocket casts for my audio. When I connect my headset or to the Bluetooth in my car the Samsung stock music player always starts instead of one of these apps. If I am listening to a podcast and get a phone call when the call ends it auto plays to the Samsung app too.

Is there any way to deactivate this or remove the apk without rooting?

Can it be disabled in settings>application manager>swipe over to all apps>scroll down to music>click disable?

Nope. Disable is greyed out.

Try to clear defaults for the stock music app and try again. It may ask you to assign an app when you connect your device try it
