Music Controls not showing on swipe lockscreen

I can only get the Google Music player to display controls over the lock-screen when PIN/Password/Pattern is selected as the Lockscreen.
If I try to have just the 'no security' swipe to unlock, the music controls aren't there.

I've tried all the different lock screen options under swipe, having 'shortcuts' enabled, information ticker, etc, have no effect. Still no Music controls.

Is this a bug, by design, or what? I would love to have the controls on the lockscreen....
If anyone could shed some light on the subject I would greatly appreciate it.

All I've done between these is change from swipe to pattern.

To my knowledge the s3's built in music player doesnt have the lock screen buttons; you have to download another music player to get that. I was kinnda bummed out that it didnt comming from the htc one x and previous htc phones. Its all good tho,im using poweramp as my default player now.

I'm using Google Music player.
It HAS controls on the pattern/pin/password lock screens, just NOT on the regular swipe lockscreen.

The only music controls that show up for me are when I drag down the notification drawer.

There is not an option for this and the reason being is because on swipe mode u don't have to have the screen unlocked to pull the notification bar down so this in turn would make it unnecessary to have those buttons if the buttons show up on ur notification bar.
