Music Controls on Lock Screen

I just got 5.0 on my Galaxy Note 3 and noticed that the music controls on the lock screen is a tiny little box. On the old OS it was a big box, which was a lot easier and safer to use while driving. Now I have to look at it, and I know I will accidentally hit the little X button and stop the music entirely. How can I get the big controls back?

My same complain now that my Tab S has been updated. I used to have beautiful artwork displayed across the entire screen and having the controls right there, big and bold. Now there's no background art and the music has been relegated to a tiny notification card. No way to change that, BTW :(

This was my biggest complaint back when my Nexus 5 first got Lollipop 🍭. The issue lies in the new notifications-on-the-lockscreen thing, which has replaced the old style of lockscreen widgets. The beautiful artwork with big music controls was a widget for the lockscreen (automatic widget, that is).
